Documentary Film Production
The film documentary is a powerful tool of visual communication. I can help you tell your story by clarifying the concept, researching the content and making a high quality production within tight budget and delivery timelines. The local and international reception given to The Last Fight attest to this.
Some past experience
Dallas Boxing Club in Muthurwa Estate, Nairobi and Madison Square Garden in Nakuru are the two places that most symbolize the beginnings of Kenya boxing. They distill the story of its rise and fall. It so happens that I was partly raised in Muthurwa, my father then being a worker for the then East African Railways and Harbours Corporation. And I went to primary school in Nakuru County. I therefore know these two places very well. They are the scenes of my film, The Last Fight, directed by Jackie Lebo, on the story of Kenya boxing. The story is gut-wrenching and in the shooting, I took some private moments off to get hold of myself so that I could be able to continue with my work. I took The Last Fight to the Luxor 5th African Film Festival in Egypt in 2014. Its reception was deeply moving.
Shooting Kenya Navy@50 was fun, especially when riding a speed combat boat and making high speed U-turns in the open sea. The firing of KNS Umoja’s big gun in the deep sea startled me but the sunset ride back to port on KNS Jasiri was as romantic as it could get.
